The artist published here by the Russian Museum works primarily in drypoint, aquatint, and etching, and his works form part of a school of Leningrad-St. Petersburg graphic artists that stretches back to the first half of a the twentieth century. His landscapes and cityscapes have a simple and stark beauty reminiscent of Japanese scrolls, and in Russian art he aspires to be a successor of such large figures in twentieth-century art as Boris Ermolaev, Anatolii Kaplan, and Iurii Vasnetsov.
